Admissions Essay Tutoring

  • Six Lessons. Two Essays.

Six sessions* resulting in two ready-to-submit essays: one long personal narrative and one short leadership narrative, in line with most universities’ essay requirements.

Lessons include but are not limited to:

    Brainstorming & Concept Development

    Organization & Planning

    Rhetoric & Authenticity

    Re-writing, Revision, and Proofreading

*Six sessions is typical and recommended, with alternative curriculums available.

  • Scheduling

    Monday-Thursday, 2:30pm-7:30pm

Recommended start date: three to nine months prior to application deadline.

More than topic or theme, voice and perspective make an essay stand out. Students develop their unique writing voices over time. For this reason, we recommend starting on essays as soon as possible.

Sessions are scheduled every other week, with flexibility on a student-by-student basis.

    Proofreading (spelling and grammar): $13/page

    Substantive/Proofread package (two rounds): $35/page

If you’ve written a rough draft that needs initial feedback (Is your topic interesting? Are your ideas engaging?) you’d likely benefit from substantive edits. Once you’re sure all your ideas are well organized and properly expressed, it’s time for a closer proofread for spelling and grammar. These rounds of revision go hand-in-hand.

The work is ultimately yours: your perspective, your story. In all editing endeavors, my goal is to maintain the integrity of your voice and vision.
